It’s ‘spring’ in Halifax. That means I have a wool poncho and a toque on INSIDE MY HOUSE. But apparently it’s warm and blooming somewhere and so I am holding out hope. It’s tricky. It’s been a long winter and I haven’t gone anywhere beyond the coffee shop and the pub. Ok, I did go look at the ocean a few times and wonder where is summer…
But mostly I’ve been here, looking out windows. I’ve been having mini bouts of rage directed at inanimate objects, like finicky electronics and zippers that get stuck. Really, it’s me who’s been stuck and I come back to the idea (knowledge?) that if I keep making work, writing words, putting it out into the world, that I will get back out into the world, too.
Thanks, fans and supporters, for your love and supporting. And your patience. I have a couple projects in the pipes, one being some words and beats collaborations with a top-notch friend out here who also happens to be a top-notch creator/producer/musician/painter/hugger.
Here’s a couple stanzas, for your love
~
With that wordless language love me
if I lay in anguish love me
cover me when the light has vanished
if my light is tarnished don’t leave
if the moon is shining see me
if the moon is hiding seek me
when the moon is rising find me
underneath
~
